In October of 2017 I spent some time in my home town of Karlsruhe/Germany. One of my favorite things to do, no matter where I am or what the weather, is to take extended walks. It clears the head, and typically you also happen upon unexpected photographic motifs. Gottesaue Castle was a ruins for most of my childhood and youth. It had been destroyed in the war, and all that was left of it were the outer walls. At some point it was restored and the School of Music moved in. Here are a few shots from the castle grounds. On the left is the new addition, you are looking towards the actual castle. In between are the gorgeous marble sculptures I used in the series “Marble Worlds“.
